——————————————————————————————

Thailand is suffering from the most catastrophic floods in five decades. The flooding has swept across 60 provinces of the country, killing at least 373 people and affecting the lives of more than 9 million people. This major disaster has severely damaged agricultural, residential and industrial areas, and economic toll is estimated at £4 billion. It remains uncertain when the flooding will come to an end, but what is clear is that the tasks of responding to and recovering from this humanitarian crisis are enormous. The victims are in need of your help.

If you would like to help the Thai flood victims, we invite you to kindly make a donation to the Cambridge University Thai Society Fund for Thailand Flood Relief. All the funds received will be donated to the Royal Thai Embassy, London, to finance the relief operations.

To donate, please make a bank transfer to the following account by 20 November 2011:

  • Account Name: The Cambridge University Thai Society
  • Bank Name: HSBC
  • Sort Code: 40-16-08
  • Account Number: 22000695
  • Reference: “Thailand flood relief”

Should you wish to donate directly to alternative organisations, you may also do so. We suggest the following organisations which are operating relief works on the ground (click below for more information).
